Human Performance Improvement and Self Reflection

I recently taught a Human Performance Improvement fundamental course to a group of doctoral students. Needless to say, I had to provide certain tools because they had no clue about HPI/HPT. During this class we focused on being self-reflective. As a self-reflective thinker you have to question your own assumptions and understanding about a topic, and think about it from a variety of perspectives. Here is what I gave them from my toolbox:

S.tand back and try to be objective

T.hink about alternative explanations

A.ct and consider other’s response and maintain your self-awareness

R.ecognize your own point of view may change from time to time!
